Promised Response By Rev. Ajabu
Today on Afternoon with Amos, which is a local radio program in Indianapolis, it was brought up that at the rally for Trayvon that Rev. Ajabu push a sista to the ground. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yall know me. You know in this city there has been no one to stand on the battlefield for the rights of our people like I have. Michael Taylor, I led the boycott of the Public Safety Director's grocery store which made the city come to the table and eventually settle with the family. Leonard Barnett, Edmond Powell, and others shot and killed unjustly by the police. I was there pushing for justice for the families. Just as recently Brandon Johnson. I stood with his family when others said they would and we couldn't find them. This is Ajabu yall!! My history is to protect women and chilldren. As I was then I am now. And because I stand, and stand strong, no sell out, no cop out my son has been threatened at Pendleton by Sgt. Rhienhart because they saw me on TV standing for Trayvon. Who in this city pays a price like this besides me!! Don't let agents of mistruths fool you. My history speaks for itself.
Now, To understand this event one must understand what led up to the event. I am not going to have the time to write down right now what actually took place. However I want to share a video with you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbaC39v8EDk This video that is taken close to Meridian street in the park shows a sista in a yellow hoody who ask to say something at the rally. The march that led people from Attucks down town to American Legion Mall was provided leadership by Rev. Ajabu. Once down there nothing appeared to be organized. So Rev. Ajabu, having years of experience with this type of assembly, began to provide leadership. Rev. Ajabu began to educate. He spoke about how justice is applied disparately in America. He used the Socratic method which means he taught by raising questions. The crowd was asked if Zimmerman was Black and Trayvon was white would the police have let Zimmerman go? The crowd emphtically shouted no. Therefore the issue in Trayvon's case as is the case in so many other people of African descent's case is not the law but the application of the law. Once I had made this point the sista in the yellow hoody approached me and asked if she could say something. I said yes and gave her the bull horn. Let me mention here that I am the owner of the bull horn. As you hear she begins with a chant then starts to talk about being a soldier don't like what is happening in America she is the world's police and she is tired of Black people killing Black people and the police are good people. It is at this point I retrieve the bull horn from sister because that line she was speaking was not the reason for the gathering. Trayvon was not killed by another Black person. Then you see the white woman ask to speak. Many attendees expressed the crowd's sentiment that they wanted to hear from me. After I taught that we must be our brotha's keepa Pastor Preston Adams ask if I wold move the crowd over to the site on the hill because there was a PA system there. This site is at least a 100 yards away. I concurred and the crowd followed me to the hill. In the video on the hill you see me still chanting. You hear the crowd responding. While I am leading chants you see a sista move toward me and try to confiscate my bull horn. Here is a better video that actually shows yellow hoody sista trying to forcibly take my bull horn.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPlNCe8b61w&feature=related Go to about the 5:29 mark to see the incident. There is something wrong with this videl because right after the incident the video stops but the audio keeps going. Plus during this paused video I couldn't pause so buffering could catch up. Maybe it will work on your computer.
This is the same sista that I let use the equipment at the initial site. The picture above shows how people are standing on a declining hill. To be honest on the hill I didn't even see initially who was trying to take my property. All I know is I felt vicious tugging on the horn. I tighten my grip on the horn with my left hand and raise my right hand to block any more aggression. Sista lost her grip on the horn and lost her footing on the hill and sat on the ground. I don't know who sista was. Pastor Drane, who helped organize the march, said the woman in the yellow hoody was not affiliated in no way with march organizers!! So why was she trying to silence my voice? It appears she was an instigator. Maybe even a plant. At no point did I push this sista down!! Because she is playing tug of war with my bull horn she lost her footing and slipped down. I pray sista did not hurt herself. She must know that it is not easy to take something from a man. I held on to my property. She lost her grip on the horn and lost her footing on the hill and went to the ground. At no time did I push her. I would have helped her to get up but it appeared she had plenty of assistance. I pray sista does not often act with this disrespect. We must respect one another and each others' property. We ask to use other people's property. We don't forcibly take property from people. We ask permission. At the initial site when she asked to use the horn I honored her request. But she should not think she can take anything from anybody. She is not my momma. This is just a part of the story. I will tell more tonight on a national broadcast at http://www.waronthehorizon.com Show starts at 7PM. To hear all the story you must listen in. I will tell you some things about Trayvon's case that you haven't heard. We must not let this minor incident of disrespect of sista to me divert our attention from the real issue. Tune in. Hopefully you call in. It will be a hot time in the country tonight. C U There.

You may be the owner of the bullhorn, but you obviously pushed a female to the ground. You are very racially and gender selective about who has to respect who.
But again Reverend:
It IS all about YOU.
Bro-Bro II
You are majoring in a minor. The sister loosing her balance while trying to apprehend my horn is not the issue of the day. We have a 17 year old youth dead!! The conversation is how to insure no other family looses a child like Mr. & Mrs. Martin have lost their child. It is tremendously more important. Andre not being in the midst of 5,000 people marching and demonstrating in his district is even minor to stopping the death of our children. Blood you got to get on task. People know me. They know I protect women and children. I had a sister at the church reinterate to me that to be prepared for vicious and unwarranted attacks. I see what she means. I pray that we don't loose sight on the reason for this struggle. We have a 17 year old prematurely removed from this life. Let's stay focused. I pray you be blessed.
Independently specking, Zimmerman killed a kid. Why he is above the law
Congressman André Carson had to be in Washington DC to vote on that important Transportation Bill late Monday afternoon -- that's what a Representative is elected for. He had apologized to having to miss the Rally in Indianapolis and had made his strong support well known.
The next day he strongly supported the Martin family personally at a Congressional hearing with the parents of Trayvon Martin. Of course, one could ask why Rev. Ajabu was not there...
Coward! you did push that sista!
Wilson:
It is interesting that someone from Andre's office called Amos' show and said Andre was at the march. Now you saying Andre was in Washington. Really, where was he? This is the very point that I am making. Andre has become a spin doctor. Or the people around him are spinning in circles so fast that he appears dizzy. Andre is over his head. His integrity has been compromised. He even sponsored a bill that is causing innocent men, women and children to starve to death. I pray for that brother to come home. I question who he is listening to. He votes for a bill to starve people. He stays in Washington when 5,000 people are marching and demonstrating in his district. Lord that man has lost his way. I pray for him. I truly do!!
Nardoleo:
I am brave because I have been afraid. The fear was not of sista trying to steal my horn. The video speaks for itself. You must work for Andre. Instead of accepting the truth you try to make the truth out of a bunch of mistruths. You must stay focused. The march was about the murder of Trayvon being enough. No more. Andre made a mistake to not be there. Who is he listening to? He is in over his head. I am going to win the race. I pray he can find ease with his conscious. Surely it is hard for him to sleep. Killing innocent men women and children!! That has got to be hard on sleeping. I pray for him. I really do.
"Reverend":
The issue of the day is saying NO to unwarranted violence.
As a leader, you are one of the worst examples in the community. Instead of, (still, constantly), always trying to be out front, why don't you just show some humility for once, and (privately) pray God saves you?
Or do you even realize what a reprobate you are?
Bro-Bro II
You got the issue right. Trayvon experienced unwarranted violence. Too many are experiencing unwarranted violence. The justice system seems to move slow when this violence is perpetrated by whites against people of African descent. My prayer is that God saves us. I understand, and are trying to get others to understand that the big picture is that it is U.S. policy to depopulate the earth of people of color and the unwealthy. I want to move aside and let Andre carry the banner. But Andre's actions are showing me he is not the one. He wasn't here for the rally for Trayvon. Although someone in his office stated publicly he was. He didn't speak out when we were challenging the slave image to be placed on the cultural trail to represent people of African descents contribution to Indianapolis. He has sponsored a bill to starve innocent men, women and children to death. I can move out of the way and leave it to a youth that is making the decisions that Andre is making. At this point I must be out front. Andre has got to be replaced. I am going to win the race. I am unbought, unbossed and unafraid to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth SO HELP ME GOD!! We who believe in freedom cannot rest. Be blessed
Hello
My name is Ieshia Hill and I was one of the organizers of the march and we thought it was VERY disrespectful how you disrupted Trayvon Martin's moment of silence. I just listened to your radio interview on Amos Brown and we did NOT ask you to speak at the march and we for sure didn't ask you to bring your own bull horn. If we wanted you to "organize" the march, we would have reached out to you. We didn't need you and your "leadership." Very distasteful.
Leshia,
My deepest apology to you and the organizers. I reached out to Emily Caldwell at ecald02@yahoo.com and she never got back. I just happened to get forwarded Emily's email. I reached out to Amos Brown and he wouldn't share organizer content. He just said it was grass roots. When I got there it appeared no one was in charge. I pretty much led the march from Attucks to the park. It appeared who ever called the rally had little experience because the tools were not there. Since I have much experience I provided the perceived lacking leadership and came prepared. I.E. I brought my bullhorn. Elders are to pass down knowledge. I provided the perceived lack of leadership. Being the lack or organization and due to my leadership when we got to the park the people asked me to speak. The video that verifies this can be found in the Post above.
That being said I pray we stay focused. To build up this incident is to make the reason for the march to be lost. Surely that is not your intent. Don't let other people get you to buy into theirs. Organization brings about order. My deepest apologies for being an elder that has failed to pass on the knowledge. Be blessed.
Please confirm that the sister in the yellow who tried to take my bullhorn was not on your organizing team. Thanks in advance. God bless.
Mr. Ajabu,
FYI, I was standing right in front of you when you pushed that lady.
And just becausen"it appeared" no one was in charge does not mean you have the right to take over something YOU DID NOT put together.
Its funny, I never knew you were Rev nor did I know you were running for Congress. Your actions at the rally didnt show a person who ministers the bible or a person who is running for office. Your actions said you were just some random old man looking for attention...some old guy who was trying to take over...some random guy who makes slick comments like the one you made about Emily being white. Yeah, I heard what you said to/about her being white and putting together the rally. For someone in the position you are in(Rev & Congressman hopeful) thats not the look you should have. Dont think Im trying to attack you in anyway, Im just letting you know what people(that dont know you) saw at the rally. That should say alot.
You are a weak hate filled coward. A joke of a man and you can't hide ignorance. You need to be right next to your son
J.Edwards:
It is very disrepectful to address me as Mister, when i am an ordained minister. The proper salutation is 'Reverend'
I've made my one and only complete response to this incident already on another forum; however, I will address the e-mail issue, as I didn't address that on my response. I did go back through my e-mails and see where Ajabu had e-mailed me asking to speak, but I had missed that e-mail previously. My e-mail address had been made available to the public by mistake, and I had hundreds of e-mails. Regardless, the lack of a response is still a response. I was always taught as a child that if you ask for something and don't get a response, you assume the response was "No" until you are told otherwise. You don't just take it upon yourself to go ahead and do whatever you like. My son tried to pull that on me once, ask him how that worked out for him.
I am somewhat confused though because during the interview on the Amos show after the march, when asked if he had asked if he could speak, Ajabu said he didn't know who the organizer was. Clearly Ajabu was aware because that e-mail was received on March 23, and once I was at the mall, I attempted to introduce myself.
As for the "apparent lack of leadership", I got to the school at exactly the planned time to begin the march, so had everyone waited, the leadership would have been apparent, but people had already started marching to the mall by the time I got there, so we proceeded with the majority of the crowd. I had hoped to arrive early to avoid any such confusion, but by the time I got my children from school and made my way through traffic, it was already 4:45pm. The event was VERY organized and there was a planned itinerary made available on the event page and via flyers.
I made it VERY clear on the event page, and once I arrived at the mall, that there were not going to be any open invitations for speakers because I wanted to avoid anyone turning the march into a political platform (this was a general statement I made on the event page, not directed at anyone specific). I turned down several requests to speak that day and said anyone wishing to support the movement was welcome, but anyone wanting to do more would need to make the efforts to organize their own event since I had no way of knowing in advance what everyone would want to say, or what their ulterior motives might be (I had several e-mails from people with very obvious agendas that had nothing to do with the reasons why I was organizing the march). I didn't want people showing up and attempting to take advantage of an audience they had no role in assembling or organizing. I'm sure there were people who wanted to speak whose comments would have been in line with the planned demonstration, but with my name being attached to it, it was a risk I was unable to safely take.
In response to the question about whether or not the woman in yellow was one of the organizers, the answer is NO, she had no affiliation with anyone organizing either portion of the march or demonstration, and none of us know who she is.
I will not argue viewpoints or details here, as the video that was recorded from the frontal view speaks clearly. The only point I will agree with Ajabu on is that I don't want the focus to remain on this one incident to overshadow the absolute success of the march, or the reasons the march was organized to begin with. MY reasons for organizing were to demand justice for Trayvon by demanding that Zimmerman be arrested and charged with murder, to bring the community of Indianapolis together to show that we CAN do better in our community to make it safer for everyone (and that we didn't have to wait until another incident of violence against our youth at the hands of an authority figure in order to organize), and to demonstrate that we THE PEOPLE are watching the watchmen, and care about the lives of our youth.
I will not come back to this website after posting this as I am focusing my energy on my children, and the betterment of our community.
Wow!! This is interesting stuff. People posting in my name. And even though I agree the the proper title for myself is Rev. that post was not from me. Somehow the truth is getting lost in this discussion. I think I will respond to one point that Emily has made which is the following:
"In response to the question about whether or not the woman in yellow was one of the organizers, the answer is NO, she had no affiliation with anyone organizing either portion of the march or demonstration, and none of us know who she is."
The above quote from Emily begs the question who is the woman in yellow. If she had no affilication with the organizing then how does she appoint herself to do anything to anyone. I mean really even if she was affiliated she should have known better than to try and take anything from anyone, and I would add especially me!! Her actions was an attempt at theft. After she grabbed my bullhorn I stop her by blocking her attempt. I blocked her attempt out of reflec. I didn't see who was trying to take my property until after the block stopped the theft. Anything that happened after her attempted theft is on her. That being said I pray she was not injured. But again who was she? She needs to come and identify herself. Was she sent to control the march? Was she sent to specifically silence me? If so, by whom. She is beginning to look more and more like a confidential agent. And isn't it suspect that she is silent in this whole conversation. Now all of you Andre supporters that was trying to make her an organizer should apologizes for mis-leading people. If you don't then your intent looks to be to intentionally mis-lead people. Our people are not stupid. They know you don't take other people's property. I am in the community extensively. I have yet to find Andre. What I have found is an awful lot of love. People are telling they would have done exactly what I did. Who is this woman!!
Hummm let me say one other thing. If Emily didn't start the march that in itself appears suspect. How do you organize a march and you don't start the march. That means you called for the march but someone else actually took over the organization. The chaplin, whose name is Cody, for IMPD actually put the march in motion. Does that mean that IMPD decided to co-opt the march? Was the lady in yellow part of the scheme. There really appears to be something bigger going on here. Yall better wake up. We are at war. And unfortunately most of our people don't even realize it. Pastor Hampton and Light Of The World took the struggle to the streets. Lord knows I love dem peoples!!!! Other Pastors were invited and were afraid of upsetting the Mayor. What!! You heard me. It is time to step it up. WAKE UP OR WE'RE ALL THROUGH!! Be blessed.
Ajabu,
You are so transparent. You are right about people not being stupid. They see everything just as God knows what motivates you. Greed, violence and seeking the spotlight. If you were a man of faith instead of the fakir we all know you to be. Trying to sound tough and threatening. She.should know better than to try and take something from a man. ( mysogynistic jerk) I am 5 ft 2" and could beat you down. Some women hit back, you may want to look to that problem. You are someday going to have a reckoning, either with the Lord or some other situation you cannot talk yourself out of. Fortunately, only the truly stupid and racist listen to you. Zimmerman is Hispanic so you may want to check your facts. He is as white as Obama.
Bunneh/Dawn;
Hummm. I though you were gone. What we are talking about here is someone trying to take someone else's property. Gender is not an issue. Home training dictates that no one, be they male or female, should try to take something from someone that is not their's. Period. I truly think something else is going on here. Why won't this woman surface? I would be glad to hold a joint discussion on what happened at the rally and how her actions instigated the whole affair. Where is she?? I know one thing for sure, she appears to be hiding and Andre wasn't there. People from his office called Amos' show and said he was there. His good friend Wilson said he got a tweet from the Congressman which stated he was in Washington. Lord help me. Has anyone seen Andre? Mr. Carson; Mr. Carson; MR CARSON; absent again!! We are going to win this race!!
AJabu and the rest of you HYPOCRITES,
What a joke ! You can't even have a rally without pushing each other around, and acting like morons!
I bet you crowd of FOOLS won't be holding a VIGIL for the 50-year old WHITE man CaRJaCKED in Sanford, Florida bY TWO BLACK, yes BLACK, BLACK TEENAGERS!!!!...and viciously BEATeN WiTH A HAMMeR this week will you???
nNNAAAAHHHHhH!
And George Zimmerman is a REGISTERED DEMOCRAT, and HISPANIC you idiots, unless you now assume OBAMA to be WHITE!
Ajabu- you are a self-serving, self-promoting hypocrite, you are a joke. Please move to someplace where you're stupid antics are appreciated like maybe Chicago, or San Francisco. Here in Indy, you are just a loud-mouthed phony.
Youre Pathetic Ajabu, shoving a woman???? YOU SHOVED a WOMAN!!!! GeeeeeezzzzAAASSSS!
Jayson
Jayson,
Here you go again. I see you still need prayer. I have not stopped praying for you. I pray God takes that deceit, anger and false judgement out of you!! Hummm. Zimmerman is Hispanic. His daddy is white, his momma is Hispanic. Does that mean any little gene ofsomething else make you something else even though your daddy was white? Wasn't that what the racist said? Any amount of black blood flowing in your vein makes you black? Jason, have you just revealed the real you? Lord, I pray for jason. Please hear my prayer.
Lol..Ajabu, you hate it when your own "logic" is usd against you...If George Zimmerman is white, so is Obama!!, LOl!
Ajabu, you "shoved" a woman, you might as well withdraw for any political race right now. How much money have you raised? I doubt you've raised over .99 cents, who would be dumb enough to vote for you?? The same ding-a-lings who voted for Andre "they called-me-the-n-word telepathically" Carson???
Ajabu- YOU ARE ON VIDEO "SHOVING A WOMAN"!!!! lOl!
I am waiting for you to hit the ripple, and proclaim that the woman was "a plant" and it was nothing but a "conspiracy" by the Carson camp to tarnish you!!, LOl!!
Ajabu, if you want to look for an opportunistic self-serving racist, all you have to do is look in the MIRROR!
Jayson
You should have pushed her harder.
Nicholas Allemenos, Lisa Allemenos, and Christopher James. Why didn't you march for them?
Why do you delete my posts about these wonderful kids that were murdered that you didn't March for?
Why?
Take your Blog down completely or address why you didn't March for them too...
And you shoulda pushed that big ol'white girl down too.
