First of all I want to thank all of the well wishes I have received about my run for Congress. it's OFFICIAL!! THE FIRST ABOLITION CANDIDATE SINCE JOHN QUINCY ADAMS IS ON THE BALLOT!! As most know, my primary opponent is Andre Carson who I know well and who you should get to know. Let me help you. Andre is one of two Congressmen that are Muslims.  When Andre initially accepted Islam it was under Minister Louis Farrakhan's guidance. The rule at that time was no white folks were allowed in the temple. One evening a police officer came to the temple and advised Andre, and brother Damian that it was reported that a brother had been observed taking stolen goods into the temple and he was going to go in and check it out. The officer was white. Brother Damien and Andre courageously stood their ground and told the cop he could not enter. The cop being a cop decided he was not going to follow the order and began to attempt to force his way into the temple.  Andre and Damien whipped several cops to prevent their entry into the temple. An eyewitness to the altercation tells me that Andre body slammed one of the cops on his cop car and touched the cop’s weapon to let him know that he could have took the weapon and escalated this whole situation. Both, Andre and Damien ended up getting arrested. James 2X, who has been on Farrakhan's personal security detail was the minister at that time. I also was Commander In Chief for the Black Panther Militia for the state of Indiana. James called me and asked if I would go with them to achieve Andre’s release. I hooked up some soldiers, my son, Kofi, being one of them. I and a team went to the juvenile center, where Andre supposedly was, while others were situated strategically elsewhere around the city. Without going into a lot of detail we were successful in obtaining Andre’s release. Congress Lady Julia Carson caught up with me and told me how grateful she was in my efforts to get her grandson released and that anything she could do, to include her money, for me to let her know. I told her at that time I was good but would possibly get back with her in the future. I did not try to get back with her to call in the favor until she was on her death bed. I went to her home and Andre looked out the window and would not let me in. To say the least I was highly disappointed. Unfortunately a few weeks later, our beloved Julia died without me getting an audience with her. Because of my love for Julia, Andre’s behavior did not stop me from helping fulfill his grandmother’s wish to succeed her in Congress. I spoke with his two black opponents privately and spoke out publicly on Amos Brown’s show to and about, Woody Myers & Caroline Mays, about how it was only right to let Andre serve the rest of Julia’s term. I got them to agree not to oppose Andre in the special election out of deference to Julia. They both agreed not to oppose Andre in the special election so he could be congressman for the rest of Julia's term and her dying wish be fulfilled. Then both ran against him in the general election and lost. 

As Minister of Social Concerns under the leadership of Bishop T. Garrott Benjamin I organized a candidate’s forum for the 7th Congressional District. At that forum Andre was asked by a sister about helping ex-felons and specifically him helping to get my son out of the penitentiary.
This is the son who was willing to put his life on the line to obtain Andre’s release from the juvenile detention although we were told he was in the Marion County jail. Andre publicly said he would do all he could if elected. I have been made aware that Andre has a nephew in prison and also has done nothing to make justice reign for him! I share this to let you know that I have been in Andre’s corner for a long time, but I have come to the realization that I don’t know the person who he has become, and I submit that neither does the public know who Andre really is. One thing for sure, he is not Julia who had compassion for the least of these, fed the hungry, work tirelessly for justice to prevail, even took her grandson in because his mother, and her daughter had challenges handling the rigors of being a mother. Groomed him to follow in her giant footsteps yet, he has turned his back on the least of these even to include his family. When his Uncle, his mother’s bother, his grandmother’s son, Sam Carson ran for mayor did Andre support him? No!! Andre was persuaded to support Melina Kennedy. Andre put the Democratic Party ahead of his family!! What has happened to the precious blood of the honorable Julia Carson? What has happened!! At one time I thought I knew a very honorable young man!! I thought I did, but now I have to ask myself what happened to the guy I thought I knew. When Andre  was going to take the job with homeland security, that Julia got for him, and was getting pushback from people within the nation of Islam I advised him to take the job so he could feed his babies, just don’t get lost. Andre and I are not strangers. However, in getting signatures for the campaign I ran into a relative of Andre’s and they impressed upon me that they had knew him as a child. The impressed upon me to contemplate if the person I am seeing now is the person that he always was. I didn’t want to believe that, but talking with this relative in Watkins park she was very adamant that I understand what she was telling was true. She was insistent that I accept that I did not know him, and accept that she did because she had knew him all his life. As a Congressman, in my opinion, Andre has truly lost his way. His relative made the case he was never on the path of righteousness. He definitely is not the young man that stood at the temple on the righteousness of principle. He has voted for every war that is being waged by America, even the wars against his Muslim brothers. He has turned his back on his uncle, his nephew, his religion, my son, and by so doing even his grandmother. He has voted to sustain sanctions against Zimbabwe, actually was a co-sponsor of the legislation,  that has caused our innocent brothers, sisters, and children to starve to the verge of death. All because President Mugabe took back the land stolen by white settlers. When I initially ask Andre why he would support such legislation he indicated he didn’t even know that he was a co-sponsor of this legislation!! How do you sponsor legislation and not even know it? I still love Andre, but I can’t stand idly and allow his deadly behavior to continue. Who will stand for what’s right instead of standing for what’s popular. I want to be that politician. I still do and I will. I am told that I am the first abolition candidate since John Quincy Adams. I readily accept that title. America must become America again!!
