Rev. Mmoja Ajabu is running for the 7th Indiana Congressional District as an independent candidate. As you know the campaign has invited Andre Carson to a dialogue. We have been contacted by Andre's office and they have indicated that Andre is open for a dialogue. As negotiations go forward we will keep you informed.
This fundraiser will be part of the effort to keep Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy alive.

Elaine is a political activist. She joined the Black Panther Party in 1967; became the party’s Deputy Minister of Information in the early 1970s. She rose to become chairperson and minister of defense of the party from 1974-77. Using electoral politics as a tool of liberation she was a California Democratic convention delegate in 1976. She lobbied for job-creating projects in Oakland, CA. She is the author of A Taste of Power: A Black Woman's Story, Pantheon, 1992.
Elaine Brown rose from an obscure ghetto existence to run one of the most powerful and notorious black militant organizations in the United States--the Black Panther Party. So powerful was the influence of the Black Panthers among black communities that it prompted J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI to label it "the single greatest threat to the internal security of the United States" in 1968. It was on April 4, 1968 that an assassin’s bullet brought Martin’s life and personal liberation struggle to an end. In this season of Kwanzaa which connects us to our African roots and because Malcolm, Martin and countless others gave their lives for us we must keep their legacy and our struggle alive. We owe this to our ancestors and our future. We must not forget!!
Brown assumed power from Huey Newton, founder and minister of defense, in 1974, when Newton jumped bail on a murder charge and left the country, appointing Brown as his successor. Brown maintained control until 1977, when Newton returned from his self-imposed exile in Cuba to face the murder charges of which he was later acquitted. were u old enough to know about the Black Panther Party...if not u need to dig deeper...maybe it did start off for the good, but turned against their own people as of today...There is an New Black Panther that has risen...that say they are not like the old...either way I never want to be part of an Militant Organization that promote...hate and violence..no better than the gangs roaming the streets now...We need an Martin Luther King for Leadership ...and please do not forget God...u r being brain washed....The Government created Head Start as well as other programs for for the poor...without their help where will the people be...What r u doing to support your people..talking..moving your mouth and not saying nothing...if u want to be African go talk it to the Africans...in the mean time my DNA consist of many blood lines...tell the women to be women and good Mother's, good role models..same as Father's, tell the kid on drugs their is an better life, than death or prison....pay tuition for the child that wants an education..do something positive..instead of spreading division..

my sister you seem to be insensitive. William has lost a brother!! Why wouldn't he bring it up and keep his brother's legacy alive. It is interesting that you would ask him if he has a Pastor. It is almost like you forget that one of the holiest days of Christianity is Easter. Easter remembers and keeps alive the assasination of Jesus by the Roman who were the police of that time. If we take the advice you are giving William then we would not celebrate Easter!! Now I happen to know Saundrajo Holiday. Obviously you don't know her. Her legacy is the development of youth through dance, spoken word, and theatre just mention a few of her talents. She has been very active. Her talk has been walked in a very substantial way!!
