Rev. Ajabu

On August 19, 2014 Prosecutor Terry Curry filed the death penalty against Major Davis jr. for the killing of Officer Perry Renn. At the scene of the shooting Major was pronouced dead. Medics were able to revive him. God decided that Major live and now Curry has decided to undo that which God has done. Curry is confused. No weapon formed against God will prosper. Keep your eyes on this one. God is going to show up, and SHOW OUT!! Mark my word!! We must Silence all the Violence. ALL!!

Well Kristin from the governor's office did respond. We are truly disappointed. The letter is unprofessional, not on state stationary, does not have the State of Indiana's seal, and is a very poor respresentation of Governor Pence. It does not answer our request for the governor to call for a moratorium on Indiana's use of solitary confinement, nor does it address the governor's position on how international law impacts Indiana's use of solitary confinement. International law ruled that a person held in solitary for more than 15 days is being tortured and a violation of international law. We are asking you call the governor at 317-232-4567 and ask that he respond to the issue raised in our request. Kristen's letter is posted below:

Thank you so much for calling the governor. They are taking the position that the letter from Commissioner of the Department of Corrections, Bruce Lemmon is the governor response. That response is posted below. As you can see Bruce Lemmon's response does not address whether the governor will call for a moratorium on DOC use of solitary confinement for punitive punishment. I spoke with Senator Taylor earlier and he is still committed to asking the attorney general for a legal position of how International Law impacts Indiana's use of solitary. If you haven't called then please do at 317-232-4567. If you have called then wait until Senator Taylor's letter is issued to the attorney general. Then we will call again.  Lemmons response is below.

We received a letter from Department of Corrections Commissioner Bruce Lemmons. Although we appreciate this response it does not answer whether Governor Pence will call a moratorium on solitary confinement. Nor does the letter address the impact of international law on Indiana's use of solitary confinement/segregation. Therefore we are still requesting a response from the governor. Your signature on the petition calling for Gov. Pence to execute and executive order calling for a moratorium on Indiana's use of solitary will help us get it. Senator Greg Taylor has committed to requesting a legal opinion from the attorney general concerning international law's impact on Indiana's use of solitary confinement. International law says anyone held in solitary for more than 15 days is being tortured. Please sign the petition. Thanks in advance

Hi,

I created a petition to Governor Mike Pence which says:

"Your signature requests Governor Mike Pence to execute an executive order calling for a moratorium for using solitary confinement for discipline in Indiana Department of Corrections. "
