The Indianapolis Mayor’s Race, Joe Paterno’s Firing & The Demise of Muammar Gaddaffi
I know I know I know. You are asking yourselves what these three topics can have to do with each other. Buckle up. This is a rough ride.
During the Indianapolis Mayor’s race we saw Andre Carson come out in support of Melina Kennedy over Sam Carson.
Andre is the Congressional representative for the 7th District of Indiana. Melina Kennedy was the democratic nominee for Mayor. And Sam is Andre’s uncle.
Joe Paterno the storied coach of Penn State was fired immediately on November 9, 2011.
And Muammar Gaddaffi was the President of Libya whose convoy was bombed by American drones and then brutally killed. The following link I warn you is graphic. But it shows the unnecessary fate Colonel Gaddaffi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkQU2d1lf_s&NR=1&skipcontrinter=1 (Gaddaffi’s death)
The common link of these three historical events is the behavior of the youth. The significance of Andre supporting Melina over Sam his uncle is Andre is the younger generation of the Carson clan. His grandmother, Sam’s mother dictated that Andre take over her seat in Congress. She wanted to keep it in the family. She showed that family blood is thicker than party mud. Yet when it came time for Andre to display the lesson taught by his grandmother he turned his back on his uncle to show his generation felt party mud was more important than supporting his family’s blood. You can read about Sam getting into the race and how Ed Treacey characterized Andre’s uncle at the following link: http://indianapolistimesblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/sam-carson-jumps-into-mayors-race-why.html (Sam Carson Mayor “Indianapolis Times Magazine”). Whoever ran Melina’s campaign does not know the black community. Family comes before party. Andre actually has sealed his doom in the next election. He will get what Melina got. The FOP endorsement was a negative. Instead of championing the Brandon Johnson and Wells cases which have garnered support in the black community she sided with the police. Who gave her that advise?? And to have Pastors come out stretching the truth not only makes them look bad but makes voters look the other way. A significant portion of the black community just did not like how Melina and her handlers ran her campaign. And probably more significant than anything, it is hard to get black women to support a white woman who has had everything given to her and has black men who falling at her feet. This image will not garner support from the largest voting block within the black community. Plus her campaign came at the expense of a very viable black man, Jose Evans who won his council race as did the other democrats running at large. Too many Blacks voted at large for a democratic council but cast their votes against Melina. In addition to Melina trying to get over the white man don’t support white woman syndrome she ran a piss poor campaign that was really winnable. I hate to say I told you so. Naw I don’t. Melina I tried to tell you. You cancelled the meeting. Now look where you are. Maybe Abdul has a point. You behavior just makes you not too likeable. I will have more to say on this at 11AM on Monday at http://www.1555wtwh.com You best tune in!! Moving on.
Joe Paterno was fired because of the way he handled his knowledge of his assistant coach’s molesting of boys as young as the age of ten years old. It is reported that Joe was informed of assistant coach Sandusky’s molestations back in 2002. And although Joe reported it to his superiors he did not stop the molestation of which the indictment indicates the molestation included at least eight young boys. Some of the molestation right in the Penn State locker room as testified to by a grad student and maintenance. The response of many youth, or students estimated to be several thousands was to show support for Paterno by turning over a news organization’s truck because these student were mad that Paterno got fired and the news reported it. Instead of being appalled that Joe Paterno would be quiet about the molestation of little young boys the younger generation is mad that Joe got fired. You can see the youth rioting and the turned over truck in the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHbEHW7qVUU “You give your life to this place and this is how you’re treated” (Joe Paterno). And Paterno thinks he got a bad deal because in giving his life to Penn State the university’s trustee’s will not support him not telling the police that little children were being molested by his assistant coach Sandusky in the locker room over which he had controlled. Lord help me today.
Muammar Gaddaffi brought Libya out of the dark ages. In Libya education under Gaddaffi was a priority and basically free. Electricity and homes for all citizens was provided and basically free. Water lines were constructed to the interior of Libya so it could grow its own food and feed itself. Gaddaffi understood the part that Arabs played in the enslavement of people of African descent and apologized. He funded the Organization of African Unity that now has morphed into the African Union. Gaddaffi put up the major funding for the communications satellite that now allows international phone calls to not have to go through Europe in order to connect with phones on the African continent. Yet, President Obama, along with Andre Carson, John Lewis and the rest of the Congressional Black Caucus voted to drop bombs on this man.
I am sixty two years old. It is really time for me to step aside and let the young folks take us into the future. However, I refuse to step aside for young folks who are displaying the behavior described above. I conclude that the future is not in good hands. Therefore, I am running for Andre’s seat in Congress. I refuse to step aside for the young folks and let them come to the neighborhood turn his back on his family and support the bombing of our homeland. Yes, Andre voted to bomb Africa!! Stay tuned to http://www.1555wtwh.com on this Monday at 11AM. I will have much more to say about the divisiveness experienced in the Indianapolis black community because of this race for mayor. Pastors and families divided. This is not the way to go into the future. Somebody has got to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me God. I guess it has got to me. I am unbought, unbossed, and unafraid. Tune in. This is must listen to radio. Here's the link to the show https://www.yousendit.com/download/T2djblRxV3JsamQ3czhUQw
