RAPE, REPUBLICANS AND AMERICA'S DECLINE

Rape, Republicans, And America’s Decline

I just can’t believe it!! Al Franken, now the Senator from Minnesota found out that KBR and Halliburton, the company that Dick Cheney previously ran, makes employees sign a waiver to work overseas. This waiver says the employee won’t sue the company if the employee is raped by co-workers on the job. WHAT!! Franken submitted an “Anti-Rape” bill amendment that would prohibit the Pentagon from doing business with any company that allows rape of its employees. Franken found out that a nineteen (19) year old girl while in Iraq working for KBR was allegedly ganged raped and when she tried to report the rape she was locked in a crate. Finally getting released and returning to the U.S. she tried to sue. She was told by KBR that she couldn’t sue because of the fine print in the contract she signed. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!! What kind of contract has a “can’t sue the company if you are raped on the job clause” in it? What are the implications of putting this type of language in a contract? The implication is that the company that authorized the contract knew in advance that the rape of employees is possible. The fore thought of the company that authorized the contract implies that the rape of employees has happened before or they knew someone was going to get raped and they wanted the employee to sign away their rights so the company would be legally protected against a lawsuit. Lord help us today. What do Republicans have to do with this? Buckle up. The ride is getting really rough.

Franken’s amendment passed by a 68 to 30 vote. Franken is a Democrat. Sixty eight Senators voted that the Pentagon should not be allowed to do business with contractors who allow their employees to be raped. Thirty Senators voted against the bill which means thirty Senators think it is OK for a nineteen year old girl to be ganged raped by her fellow employees on her lunch break, assuming they waited for lunch. All of the Senators that voted to allow rape on the job are Republicans!! Whether you are man or woman these Senators by their vote have shown belief that it is alright for people to get raped on the job if they work overseas for KBR or Halliburton. Please help us today FATHER!!

Is it a wonder that we can’t get the public option in healthcare reform out of the Senate? These Republican Senators need extreme healthcare because they are mentally sick. They are downright insane!!  These Senators by their vote are showing that they have no compassion for human beings. This is why I say that America is in its decline. When Rome was the world leader of the day, no one thought that the sun would ever set on the Roman Empire.  History bears witness that Rome’s moral decay was very instrumental in its decline. We would like to think that no outside force can conquer America. With Republican Senators supporting rape on the job, no outside force will have to conquer America. America will cause its own decline. This type of behavior must be exposed. This ministry is going to tell the unadulterated truth. I bet these Republican Senators consider themselves to be conservative and Christian. They may be conservative but their vote to support rape at KBR and Halliburton was not cast from a Christian perspective. Please support this ministry. What's the Diff Mojo? Obama is raping America.

You don't get it mmoja!! Rape of a woman is legal in the Arab world...in fact, it is encouraged to keep them in their place.

October 25, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAbdul Salahan

The "family values" Republicans continue to show us that what they actually value is the money they get from corporations like KBR and Halliburton. Their moral posturing is simply a smokescreen to divert attention from their venality.

Mo,

Bringing up the name Dick Cheney is getting old. Don't you have another play from the ol playbook?

October 25, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAbdul Salahan

Abdul,

Are you comparing President's Obama's policies with the rape of a woman? Man you have got to be sick. That's like comparing a vote at the city council as being equal to some neighbor of yours raping your mother. Then there you go misrepresenting the truth. Rape is not legal in the Arab world. Where did you get that from? Through you we are watching the decline of America.

Original,

My comments to you mirror my comments to Abdul. No I didn't work for Halliburton. However it looks like those rupublican senators do. We are watching America decline right before our eyes. Lord help us today.

Janet,

Thank you for being true to the truth. God bless.

Reverend

I have tried to get Dawn to see how the word conservative is beginning to mean more and more death, racism, hate, disease, and destruction. I have yet to see any real benefit from the actions of conservatives when it comes to humanity.

When I debate Dawn on the need to save 45,000 Americans from dying each year because they don't have health insurance, Miss Conservative Christian goes into all of the reasons why it won't work. The healthcare industry will collapse, there are not enough doctors, the economy will collapse.

As Janet said, they only care about the money they get from these corporations. Their moral values are about money and not about human beings. Some of those 30 Republicans are medical doctors who should know better. They have joined the non medical congressmen to oppose the current heathcare bill. No wonder they can tolerate the rape of a 19 year old girl; they don't care what happens to citizens of this great country. All they care about is protecting the people with money.

It will be interesting to see how their campaign opponents will use the vote against rape when these 30 Republicans run for office again.

This country is in trouble because of the governance and the lack of compassion by Republican Conservatives. They have a track record that is there for all to see. George Bush and the Neo Conservatives went to war and killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and American soldiers just to help that same Haliburton [Dick Cheney's Company] get wealthier. They thought they were going to grab all of that oil in Iraq.It back fired and now Barack Obama has to try and clean up after their mess. If anybody raped America it was Bush and the Republicans who followed him loyally and supported EVERYTHING that idiot asked of them.

Obama is doing all he can to save this nation and so far he is winning. When we were losing 600,000 jobs a month under Bush; Barack has it down to 250,000 jobs a month.

The Conservatives are ruthless, inhumane, immoral, and they are Satanic and not Christ like. We have been raped repeatedly by them in America. Those 30 congressman who voted against a bill to prevent gang rape prove my point.

Hey Rev.--

Why do you want to FORCE EVERYONE into the "Public Option"?? Why not just for those who need it, but don't have it.

I mean do you want the same Government that manages the incarceration of your Son, to manage the administration of healthcare to every person in America as well?? The same one that can't manage cash-for-clunkers?

The same one that sits back and flushes billions down the drain paying fraudulent Medicare claims?

How many pipe hits have you had, Bro?

So why FORCE EVERYONE?

and last I checked- and you can check again,
ANYONE WHO IS SICK AND NEEDS TREATMENT CAN GO DOWN TO WISHARD AND GET IT!

I just saw 2 indigent cases where spinal cord tumors were removed from patients would could not pay. So whats the fuss Bro?

Jayson

October 25, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterjayson

Jayson

If you want to talk about the United States government as bumbling idiots, lets really see what your government is running.

The military, the VA, social security, Dept of Education, Justice Department, Dept of Agriculture, Space Program, CDC, Homeland Security, and so much more. If we don't have some faith in our government, what do you propose to replace this government with.

As a Confederate Conservative, you probably want to overthrow our government or secede from the United States like the Confederates did in the Civil War. Especially since a Black man is commander in chief. You want to puke! But the American people elected him and the Democrats. You lost!!

If you don't like this government and how it is run then leave. Get out!!

Where did you get the idea that we want everybody to have the public option. The public option is for those who do not have insurance. Covering them will cut down on the more expensive Emergency Room visits. Remember, 45,000 die each year because they don't have coverage.

We already have those who are 65 and older with the government option, it is called Medicare. Those who are disabled and are under 18 years old and who are indigent, they have Medicaid and Medicare [government options]. We are trying to save the lives of those between 18 years old and 65 years old. They are dying like flies.

It is obvious you don't have a clue what the Democrats and Obama are doing to save so many lives. But as a Conservative, you really don't care about human beings. All you want is for the Billionaires to stay rich and famous. While the poor in trailer parks and ghettos starve in this great country and you want the poor to die because they don't have health insurance. How cruel you conservatives are.

Be careful, you might find yourself falling through the crack one day and you will wish for a safety net like the public option to save your ass

All you are doing is strengthening our case about the inhumane and ruthlessness of Conservatives in this country. For 30 elected officials to vote against a bill to punish gang rape, no matter where it occurs, is extremely Anti-Christ. May God have mercy on your souls.

My brother Jayson,

I appreciate the near civility in your disagreement. However, you still sound like a person who allows their wealth to affect their eternal health. If I grant your premise that it is legal in Arab countries to rape their women, and understand that I don't believe this to be true, but I will grant your argument in order to make this statement, assuming your premise is true, then you are saying that Americans should support rape because rape is legal in the country that we are supposed to be trying to bring freedom? Therefore, in your opinion, it is alright to gang rape a nineteen year old girl because it is legal in Iraq, it is in the contract, and if she did not want to be raped she shouldn't have signed the contract. Man do you really understand how sick that is? You really do yourself and other republicans a dis-service trying to support these republican senators' vote to allow rape. Oh, it was in the contract. She should have read the contract. Man you got to be crazy. What is a rape clause doing in a contract in the first place? Is the republican party so important to you that you would support its senate members voting to support the rape of a nineteen year old girl? So to support and preserve the republican party you would support the rape of a nineteen year old girl! Is the republican party that important! Don't you see that your defense of this attempt at legalizing rape is causing the decline of America?

Jayson, I still have a issue to pick with you. You never responded to the implication of your statement that Marshall and I were "buffoons" because we fought for freedom to be sustained in America. Jayson, I say Jayson, are you critizing warriors and you have not went anywhere as a soldier to defend this country? Is this the case. Answer the question. My unit in Vietnam received a Bronze Star because of the bullets we ducked and the lives we lost trying to keep America free. The memory of gallant men in our unit who died in battle is still fresh in my mind. These men died to keep you rape supporting but free. Did you fight at all? Answer the question while you try to defend the rape of women, and in this case, American women. If your wife was in Iraq working for Halliburton are you telling me it would be alright for her fellow employees to rape her? What kind of man are you? Are you human?

Instead of addressing the issue you want to ask John how much support he has given this ministry. He and others have supported this ministry and I believe will support again. All support is much appreciated and much needed, but the level of support will not cause the IRS to make a special trip to knock on this ministry's door. The question for you is what have you contributed besides your support of the rape of women? If people's response on this blog indicated the consumption of mind numbing substances then it is you who is the guilty party. If someone has been partaking of something that shouldn't be consumed it's you! Your position supports the decline of America!! WAKE UP MAN OR WE'RE ALL THROUGH!! God bless.

Reverend:

That was stated very well. I know Jayson is unable to answer your questions. He usually ducks the questions and then come up with some off the wall derogatory remark. He is not a debater, he is only an agitator with very loose associations. His thoughts are very incoherent, sometimes I wonder what are we dealing with.

You got him good on the support of gang rape, no matter where it occurs. And what if his wife worked for Cheney's Haliburton subsidiary and was gang raped? But you know,he loves Cheney and the greedy rich merchants of death at Haliburton so much that he would choose them over a rape victim.

October 26, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterjohn marshall

John,

I hope you are wrong about Jayson. Jayson wants to bring up my son in this discussion and its relationship to republican behavior. My son is incarcerated with a sentence of 240 years. He was charged with assaulting a guard. The charges were filed in court and the court exonerated him of the charges. However, the prison still treated him as if he had committed the assault. The Indiana Department of Corrections put him in solitary confinement for over a year. Now, because of our family's constant raising of the issue, he has been transferred back to a prison that is closer to home. It was the republican administration of Governor Mitch Daniels that made this positive development happen. For that I, my family, and many others are grateful. But because the governor, who is republican, is doing positive things in relationship to my son, is not reason for me to support republicans that condone rape!! I truly do not think that Mitch Daniels would support the republican senators who voted to legalize the rape of a nineteen year old girl. Votes of this nature will cause the republicans to never get back in power. This is why I must be independent. With the vote passing by 68-30 that means some republicans had to vote for the bill. It is those republicans that should rise above the degradation of women that the other republican senators have supported and tell the world that those republicans do not represent the republican party. If the republicans that don't support this vote for legalized rape do not speak up then their silence will be interpreted as consent. The division that is being formented because of party loyalty must come to end. Parties can disagree, but when the disagreement allows republicans to support the rape of an innocent nineteen year old girl then the loyalty to the party has gone too far. God bless.

http://newsrealblog.com/2009/10/18/newsreal-sunday-franken-rape-amendment-vote-puts-republicans-in-bad-light/

A much more balanced look at this story.

Democrats, including the Democrat who writes this blog will use (correctly) this bill to make Republicans look bad.

As the more balanced article correctly states, OBVIOUSLY, none of these republicans believed that women should be allowed to be raped without protection of the law. They should have voted for the bill, but they saw the way it was written on a slippery slope. That being said, they should have voted for the bill and made their concerns known.

Do not believe for a second that republicans are more or less likely to take a bad political stand because they saw a slippery slope. A great example was that democrats in congress would not pass fetal homicide laws because they felt that they were a slippery slope toward eliminating a woman's right to choose. So they voted against a perfectly good bill to protect infants who are murdered in utero.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2004/mar/26/20040326-124033-4729r/#

When the writer of this blog begins to take a balanced approach and stop the misrepresentation of the positions of people he does not know or understand, there will be a movement toward increasing the love and decreasing the hate.

Stop the intellectual dishonesty. People can come together to do what is right. But not as long as people who claim to be of the cloth refuse to even try to listen to both sides for the "right" that exists in both positions.

October 26, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterConservative Christian

Ajabu-
You know, you say you want to "increase the love, and decrease to hate". Again- what a joke this is....you're so full of crap it's oozing out of your shoes.

That continued meaningless "slogan" of yours is such a waste of breath when you make out that Republicans want to "legalize rape". It's barely worth a response because it's such a dumbass postion to take- But as usual, you and John would take it.

That statement immediately takes all of your (the little of it) credibility away and puts you right in there with Al Sharpton and Tawanna Brawley, and Maxine Waters and her assertion that the CIA planted AIDs in the Black community.

If you are going to say "Republicans want to Legalize rape" then I guess I can say the following is also true:

1) Black Liberals arent Patriotic.
2) Black liberals don't tip.
3) Black liberals always agree with each other no matter what
4)Black liberals love their cars more than their homes.
5) Black liberals always want for "free" what everyone else has to "earn".

Then- after I state those crazy things, I will call you BOTH RACISTS, because "obviously" you use the word "Republican" as just another term for "Rich Whities" that you want to demonize which is what you do here with this phony "ministry" every day.

Legalize rape? Moronic...the two of you. Looks like the "contract" was written to clearly indicate that the employee was going into a VERY DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT, and that they could not assure 100% protection 100% of the time from ANY Element.

Yes, you are buffoons to dodge bullets to fight tyranny, only to be suckered in and support tyranny on your own soil. How plainer can I say it.

No one is condoning rape, but I do see people HERE who want to excuse truly criminal behavior time and time again.

Ajabu- You've been pretty silent on the ACORN scandal- of course, I am sure you have some excuse for why ACORN Liberals think it's OK to set up housing for traffikers of 13-year old illegal aliens and USING THEM FOR SEX SLAVES!

You seem silent on that so I guess we should all assume REV. AJABU and JOHN MARSHAL SUPPORT THE TRAFFIKING of 13-yr old GIRLS for SEX, since you FAIL to condemn ACORN.

You guys are so full of crap, you are clowns.

Jayson

October 26, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterjayson

Jayson,
Just as there is some truth in what you say, just as there is some truth in what the Reverend sometimes says, can we start recognizing that all sides have some partial truth in what they believe?

If the Reverend won't work harder to try to hear and digest both sides, can't you try?

We both know that Al Franken is an intensely partisan person who will always do what he can to make a conservative look bad. You need to admit that because he puts partisanship gamesmanship over right and wrong...he DID management to win that "game". He didn't do what was right, obviously, but he won the game.
Because most people won't look into why the Republicans were uncomfortable with the Franken bill. The Franken bill had nothing to do with the poor woman who was raped. It was all about making republicans look stupid. And that's bad politics. More of the same.

And to the republic for which we stand!

I am deeply saddened that we as a country have
somehow became estranged from our morals and
principles. Within here lies our integrity. The
integrity that we are trodding on other lands
and nations and destroying other lives in the
name of "freedom and terror". Yet we have now
became the "terrorists" ourselves in our con
cupisence and devout hypocriscy. Certainly we
will recieve the recompence of our deeds. You
should not be so terribly shocked that this kind of mentality exists. They have been doing this historically right here in America since
the beginning of our history. Is this ever going to stop? Of course not until the appoin-
ted time and scheduled according to God's Word.
The truth of the matter is that certain events will happen in our future that will certainly
show us the err of our way. The upright will be
preparing themselves for the horryfying events
that will transpire right here in the U. S. A.
Believe it or not things will get much worse before they get better. Our capitalistic system
will fail as you can see the foundation of it rising right before your eyes. I can see the
"crumbling of American" right now. You are loo-
king right at lady liberty and not identifying her in her glory. She is a babylonian and she is not our "Adam of liberty, but our Eve of de-
struction". There are no patriots over here. We
say one nation under God. We are a nation under
many gods. If there ever was a perverted nation
we are the epidemy of it.We have been in the hurricanes of evil so long that we have to rea-
lise that we are actually in the "eye of the
storm".When this nation wakes up they will find
themselves in a irrecoverable condition. We have been given so many warnings such as 911 and Katrina. Wait until you see God's version
of "This Is It" if you think Michael Jackson's
was tough. Just remember that I "told you so".

Never mind.
Reason on this blog is dead and gone.

Dawn and Jayson

There are local newspapers in the cities where some of these 30 Republican congressman represent that have condemned their vote not to give a rape victim the right to sue. That is all that the Franken bill contains. How can you and Dawn declare there is no reasonable thinking on this blog when both of you try to defend congressmen who voted not to allow a girl to sue if she is gang raped.

Remember, 68 congressmen voted for the Franken Bill and 30 Republicans said "NO" like they always do if a Democrat submits a bill. In fact, the Republicans have removed themselves from the political process because all they say is No No No!!

Acorn was attacked by racist Conservative Republicans who were beaten badly by voters who Acorn registered to vote. They are trying to decrease the Acorn voters that they know will be for the Democrats. The Acorn situation was a White couple who pretended to be hustlers who set up some Acorn workers and did a "gotcha" sting. Contrast that with a 19 year old girl who was gang raped by fellow employees at a Haliburton subsidiary company. You don't see the difference between a slick trick versus a real live gang rape. The Republicans were quick to rid us of Acorn but wouldn't even vote to prevent gang rape in the future. We need to get rid of Haliburton far more than we need to get rid of Acorn.

Acorn, like many organizations have some dishonest people in their midst. Are you and Dawn saying that Acorn is the only organization that has had some members who are dishonest? Nobody eliminates the entire organization because of some unscrupulous workers, most organizations remove the bad apples and continue their mission.

Ted Haggard was the head of 2 million Christian Conservatives and he was caught with drugs and having sex with a male prostitute. Republicans were very quiet. There could be more of that type of behavior going on in that organization.

Ralph Reed was caught in the Abramoff scandal and fraudulent activity but his Republican political organization is still operating.

Tom Delay was stripped of his House Majority Leader position because of fraud.

There is a lot of corruption to go around and most of the fraudulent groups are still operating. That is why I want Acorn to clean up the bad elements and go back to operating their good work as community organizers.

In fact, Haliburton has been charged with defrauding America with extremely exorbitant charges for their services in Iraq. They have raped this nation. We just didn't know they were gang raping 19 year old girls and had a clause in the employee contract to prevent lawsuits.

Obviously 68 reasonable congressmen agreed with Al Franken's bill. You can't declare Rev and I are not reasonable just because we agree with the majority of elected officials who want to avoid leaving a rape victim without a recourse. The question is, are you and Jayson reasonable.

I thought you were done writing on this blog, Dawn. You keep coming back. Poor Jayson is pitiful! I feel a sense of worthlessness when I try to communicate with his idiotic statements. Dawn, you are becoming more and more like Jayson with your illogical ranting about liberals.

One thing I know for sure, you and Jayson will not say anything bad about Bush. You can talk for hours about how good he was but you refuse to say a word about his many faults. You can beat on Obama and the liberals but you can't see anything wrong with Bush and the Republicans.

Occasionally, Dawn, you will complain that Bush was not a true conservative but that is about all we can get from you on Bush.

This is a very logical and reasonable blog. It must be something you like Dawn because you surely can't pull yourself away. I will continue to pounce on those illogical and twisted statements of yours because I don't know who might read your foolishness and dare to believe any of it. I owe that much to our readers.

Wow!! So many things to address. Where do I start? I am going to start with Jayson. Jayson, again I want to state that I appreciate the civility that has come with your disagreement. Personal attacks just get in the way of necessary dialogue. I disagree with you because you express opinon which is not all fact. It is a fact that I have not expressed a position on the situation with ACORN. That is because ACORN has never been the topic on this blog. Let me state emphatically that I thought the people who were caught counseling a fake pimp with fake prostitutes who were supposed to be underage illegal immigrants, not aliens Jayson, immigrants, people who come into this country illegal are still humans, and the advice given to them on how to evade federal taxes was wrong. I listened to the argument about ACORN's voting registration efforts and I was twixed and between. Having done plenty of voter's registration I know that the registrant is not responsible for determing whether the person registering is telling the truth or not. Determining the validity of the registration is the Registrar's job. So I thought it was improper for people, who seemed to be mostly republicans, to hold ACORN accountable for the responsibility of the Registrar. Still, let me be absolutely clear, I did not support, I will not support, and I will work against anyone that counsels others on how to make legal the use of children in the sex industry. With that being said I think John's position is right. The organization shoud weed out the bad apples and keep accomplishing its voters' registration mission.

I have more to say, but I am scheduled to go see my son. Right now he takes priority. I will finish my thoughts when I get back. Dawn and John I want to also engage y'all. I really think I see an opportunity to increase the love and decrease the hate on some things between you two. Jayson I am not through with you. I will be back. I must go be daddy.
